Prior to being a founding partner in Federal Business LLC, Mr. Gfrerer was Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer at the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role, he led the largest single centralized IT portfolio in the Federal Government of 8,000 IT professionals plus an additional 8,000 full-time contractors. While at VA, he implemented a Digital Transformation strategy of the nearly $6B portfolios which modernized the massive VA Enterprise. Mr. Gfrerer’s background also includes being Executive Director at Ernst & Young and Senior Advisor at the Department of State for cyber and intelligence activities.
